Another Milestone Coming

THE WEEKEND OF MAY 27-30 THIS YEAR MARKS ANOTHER MILESTONE IN THE PROGRESS OF DOB. THAT IS THE WEEKEND OF OUR FIRST NATIONAL CONVENTION WHICH WILL BE HELD AT THE WHITCOMB HOTEL IN SAN FRANCISCO.

FOUR YEARS AGO WHEN WE STARTED PUBLICATION OF THE LADDER WE TOOK A "GO FOR BROKE" ATTITUDE EITHER THIS WOULD MAKE THE ORGANIZATION OR BREAK IT. ELL, WE HAVEN'T BROKEN YET.

IN A WAY, THIS FIRST CONVENTION IS A "GO FOR BROKE" AFFAIR. ĶE HAVE TAKEN THE PENTHOUSE OF THE HITCOMB HOTEL A GLASSED IN ROOM AFFORDING A SUMPTUOUS VIEW OF "THE CITY". TO GET THIS WE HAVE GUARANTEED AN ATTENDANCE AT BOTH THE LUNCHEON AND BANQUET OF 100 PERSONS. THIS IS A HIGH FIGURE FOR HOMOPHILE CON-VENTIONS WE DOUBT IF EITHER MATTACHINE OR ONE HAVE ATTAINED THIS ATTENDANCE OFTEN, IF EVER. BUT WE THINK THE WOMEN CAN DO IT! (WITH THE HELP OF THE MEN.)
